WJC on hand to honor Illinois Speaker of the House of Represenatives

We're up to good! WJC Executive Director Tanya D. Woods, JD was present to honor the Illinois Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Rep. Emanuel "Chris" Welch had this to say upon his receipt of the "Justice Warrior" award:

"Tremendously honored to receive the Justice Warrior Award from several grassroots organizations for our work creating the Illinois Access to Justice Legal Aid program. This legal assistance program helps mitigate the damage caused by mass detention and incarceration which has for years disproportionately impacted black and brown people who did not have access to lawyers."
