Westside Justice Center is hiring for the Project Homecoming Coordinator position. The Project Homecoming Coordinator will support individuals transitioning away from incarceration by helping them connect to programming and other resources in the community and develop supportive programming and resources.


Program Management Responsibilities:

  • Build collaborative relationships between communities affected by incarceration and Westside Justice Center to offer services that support individuals impacted by incarceration;

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to remove barriers to services;

  • Participate in the development of WJC programming to address issues that meet the needs of communities impacted by incarceration;

  • Plan and coordinate events which would further the mission of WJC and provide a platform to connect participants with legal resources and social services;

  • Develop, implement and evaluate platforms and mechanisms for community engagement in WJC mission and programming;

  • Develop, implement and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of volunteers to support programming;

  • Manage relationships within Westside Justice Center’s referral network

  • Identify potential partnerships and avenues to enhance WJC impact within the community;

  • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with organizations and community groups to broaden the reach of WJC’s services;

  • Maintain and coordinate partnerships between WJC and community organizations within the Project Homecoming network;

Outreach Responsibilities:

  • Manage social media platforms to conduct digital outreach and share legal information and other relevant information with the community;

  • Create digital outreach content to support and share WJC programming;

  • Support the development of other departments programming to broaden outreach efforts.

Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Measure and evaluate deliverable outcomes of Project Homecoming activities;

  • Work closely with the Program Manager to maintain and report numbers of participants and referrals and services provided;

  • Complete reporting responsibilities to stakeholders;

  • Track and report Project Homecoming data.


  • Familiarity with the landscape of community-based resources for individuals reentering the community post-incarceration

  • Exhibits professionalism and strong customer service by maintaining a positive, professional, courteous and flexible demeanor when dealing with clients and colleagues

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Shares information and offers ideas and solutions in a team environment

  • Self-starter and pro-active

  • Attention to details

  • Able to adapt to stressful situations and handle difficult questions

  • Diligent team-player with a positive attitude and people skills

  • Desire to grow and be a long-term part of a growing organization

  • Timely and efficient completion of tasks

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe productivity tools

  • Proficient user of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Constant Contact, and Zoom

  • Working knowledge of Wix and Salesforce is an advantage

  • Working knowledge of Spanish is an advantage
